Inspired by "OPRA" story on Darfur
Mary Phillips started her art education at the High School of
Music and Art, NYC, and continued as an Art Major at Hunter College
where she received her B.A. and M.A.  She taught art for Early
Childhood Education at
Hostos Community College and became an
Adjunct Professor there.

Continuing her art education has been a major objective of Mary's
career.  She studied at
Brookdale, DuCret School of Art, Daniel E.
Greene Studio Workshop the Newark Museum, The Hannan Art
Studio in Australia and
Montclair Museum Studio in NJ.

The Artist has displayed her work throughout the northeast including
the following:

MS Phillips has also been featured in one-person art shows at Hostos
Community College;
Boricua College, NY: the Advanced Technology
Center, Lincroft, NJ; the
Art Alliance, Red Bank, NJ; Crossroads
Theater, New Brunswick, NJ and El Lobo Negro Art Gallery, Asbury
Park, NJ.   She has received many awards and recognition, including
the New Jersey State Senate Resolution of Appreciation for her pastel
"Lake Wesley", displayed in the office of State Senator, John Bennett:
First Place, Brookdale Community College Alumni: Best in Show,
Matawan Rotary Outdoor Show, and the Irene Spiegel Award,
Community Art Association.

She has been elected to membership in the New Jersey Chapter of
American Artists Professional League.  Her originals are included in
numerous private collections.
